I am just back from the most fun wedding ever. It was a wedding, weekend break and school camp all rolled into one. Ruth and Daniel had the amazing idea of hiring a beautiful Victorian boarding school for their wedding, for the whole weekend. Guests (and photographers!) could stay overnight in the dorms, and this morning after a lovely breakfast everyone made good use of the swimming pool!

Ruth and Daniel are the sweetest couple you could ever meet and the wedding was a wonderful, colourful, heart-warming occasion, full of all the good stuff. We had such a great time photographing the day and felt so welcome we almost forgot we weren’t part of the family :) Ruth looked gorgeous, the weather was glorious and we got so many amazing shots, but here’s a few favourites to give you a little taster of the day and what’s to come…

Ruth and Daniel – have a wonderful honeymoon in Madagascar and I look forward to showing you the rest of your photos when you’re back. Thanks for having us – we loved being part of your wedding :)

Here’s a little preview of Charlotte and Marc’s gorgeous wedding at The Alnwick Garden in Northumbria. One of my photographer friends, the lovely Lucy West, asked me to 2nd shoot for her at this wedding as her usual assistant wasn’t available. Having seen Charlotte and Marc’s fabulous engagement photos I didn’t take much persuading – I knew it would be a fab wedding and they’d be loads of fun to photograph. I really enjoyed 2nd-shooting too, it was a lovely opportunity to ease gently into the wedding season and get some of those wonderful candid shots you don’t always get a chance to take as the main photographer (although I always try!). The Alnwick Garden has an incredible cascade, and although sadly it wasn’t working I just loved the lines and curves of the wall and knew it would make a stunning photograph…

And then as we were shooting the formals, the sun came out from behind the clouds for a split second. A quick instruction to the bride and groom to kiss, et voila! A flare-tastic sunset kissing silhoutte shot. I was a very happy lady :)
