I love engagement shoots. It’s a brilliant opportunity to hang out with my lovely clients (and I’m very lucky, they are all lovely!), chat about their wedding, and get them relaxed in front of the camera. I find out a bit more about their story, and we have a really nice time. Often, we go back to where the proposal happenned, and in Vanessa and James’s case, this was on a walk around a resevoir. What I didn’t realise was that we were going to recreate the entire walk. Around the reservoir. All of it. I should have worn walking boots ;)
Normally it takes a while for couples to warm up in front of the camera, but Vanessa and James were naturals and got into the spirit straight away…

This is one of my favourites. What a gorgeous couple :)

I spotted this fab tree and just had to use it in an image, so made Vanessa and James climb over the wall for a photo…

Further round the resevoir we found a lovely spot on the hill with swishy long golden grass and sunshine. I just LOVE the resulting images, so dreamy and romantic…

And this is the spot where James got down on one knee and asked Vanessa to marry him. Awwww :)

It’s certainly a beautiful place to get engaged, and a lovely location for photos.

These two are just gorgeous. (I especially love Vanessa’s beautiful hairclip) And if they look this good on a walk around a resevoir just how amazing will they look on their wedding day?!

Just. Gorgeous. And brilliant fun too…

James and Vanessa have ordered a Wedding Guest Book featuring their favourite 40 images from the shoot. This is a lovely way to use the photos and becomes a wonderful keepsake after the wedding.

Vanessa and James, thanks for a lovely afternoon (and keeping me fit!) and being so willing to have fun in front of my camera. And thanks especially to James for carrying my camera bag around the reservoir ;)

And if you’re getting married and would like to chat about becoming one of my lovely clients and having a fab engagement shoot like this one, please get in touch!
